A Strange Country is a group show of contemporary painting, print and sculpture by eight emerging artists, with guest artist Lisa Wright.Disconcerting and dreamlike, the art here depicts landscapes and spaces, both physical and psychological. Viewers may create their own narratives from the imagery but are left unsettled and uncertain about what is really going on.
All nine artists are interested in mark making and the painted/printed surface. Images are revealed and obscured through a rich variety of textures, brushstrokes and layering.
